University Communications manages media relations, critical and crisis communications, serves as an in-house advertising and PR agency for university clients, and promotes and supports major university events and initiatives. Through a network of internal communication liaisons, we create promotional materials for recruitment and fundraising purposes, as well as for events, performances and information campaigns.

University Communications positions Appalachian State University as a leader in higher education by presenting stories that illustrate the university’s strategic initiatives and unique character. By coordinating and facilitating emergency and critical communications, we ensure accurate, consistent information for the public. Through sharing stories about the ways our students, faculty, staff and alumni are making a difference in the world, we are enhancing the university’s brand and increasing the value of an Appalachian degree.
