Interested in selling advertising to Appalachian?
Oftentimes, individual departments or areas purchase advertising. University Communications handles all initial advertising inquiries for university departments and program areas.
Appalachian State University does not have a general marketing budget, but on occasion, University Communications will coordinate a cooperative purchase among two or more departments, allowing them to combine budgets and take advantage of advertising opportunities that would otherwise not be affordable.

Are you a freelance photographer or graphic designer interested in working with Appalachian?
While it is rare for the university to contract with freelance photographers or graphic designers, there are occasions when it is necessary to do so. University Communications must approve all designers prior to contracting their services, and designs created by freelancers must be vetted through the same approval process as all designs created in house.
Freelance photographers are sometimes hired to cover special events or occasions. In such cases, University Communications can provide information on protocol and standards.
